I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to sivart to correspondence which took place

in 1905 relative to an arrangement with the Colonial Government of Pong Kong by which the Signal Stations at Cape d'Aguilar and Victoria Peak were taken over by the Admiralty (on payment of a nominal rent) and the Colonial Government was to pay an annual sum of $2,000 to Mavy Funds for the work done for the Colony. (Admiralty Letter of the Ath November 1905 and Treasury reply of the

18th idem No.20981/05).

2.- It was at that tim the intention of the

Admiralty (as stated in the correspondence) to maintain a "ireless Telegraphy Station at Capo d'Aquilar, and a

temporary installation was in fact erected and maintai

there for a considerable period. It was however fotni

to be unsatisfactory, and in preference to establ↑ «Māj

a more powerful installation at that place My Lords

eventually sanctioned an installation on board M_Y_S/

"Tamar", the depot ship at 'tong Kong, and have maintined

Capo d'Aquilar as a viqnal signalling station like at

at Victoria Ponk. The financial arrangment with

Tony was not modified.

The situation has however recently changeat ordnet

o the abolition of R.V.S. "Tamar". the new depot
